Nanika Resources Inc. (TSX-V: NKA and FSE: C7X) today announced that Titan Diamond Drilling Ltd. of Smithers, BC, has been contracted and will begin mobilizing a Longyear Super 38 diamond core drill from Lillooet, BC in the next two days.
Site preparation is underway at the Red Cliff East project. Approximately one kilometre of new access trail to the site of the first drill pad has already been cut. DJ & J Enterprises Ltd. of Stewart, BC is responsible for constructing and contouring the access trail. The site has good road access off paved Highway 37A and the existing American Creek access road, which runs approximately 20 kilometres north-east of Stewart, BC. Nanika intends to complete approximately 1,000 metres of drilling under the current program. Approval has been received for up to seven holes; the first of which Nanika intends to be approximately 260 meters from the boundary of the adjacent Decade Resources Inc. property and approximately 400 metres from a gold discovery on their property.
Nanika's Red Cliff East property lies immediately adjacent to the property worked by Decade Resources Inc. whose "Montrose zone" recently announced results included a 0.3-metre interval of 2,847 grams per tonne gold and 18 metres of 49 g/t gold. Nanika believes that these results confirm the high-grade nature of the mineralization in the area. Other Decade intercepts included 24.7 metres grading 20.87 grams per tonne gold with 2.13 metres averaging 142.2 grams per tonne gold. The intersections are believed to represent 70 per cent of true widths. Results for a further 24 drill holes testing the Montrose zone are pending, and Decade is currently planning follow-up drilling on the Montrose zone this season. The Montrose zone is accessible by drill road and is within forest cover that will allow for drilling through the remainder of the year. (For full results, please see the Decade Resources Inc. news release of Sept. 21, 2010).
