Discovery Ventures is continuing the drill program at the La Sarita copper-silver project in Mexico. Around six drill holes, totaling 1,800 m, will be included in this drilling stage.
Recently, the company has completed the phase I drilling preparations at the La Sarita. The phase I program has included grid soil sampling and geological mapping work at its project. In addition, this work phase has incorporated a three dimensional induced polarization (IP) survey for outlining the sub surface geological formations, underground and surface sampling program.
This project has silver and copper mineralization over a 2.4 km long strike with 100 to 500 m of depth. The results of the comprehensive sampling program all over the property are pending for finding more drilling targets.
The company has reported the recent visit of Dr. R. H. McMillan to the property. All reference points are located near the grid of the ground IP-magnetic survey. The suggested D, E and F holes comprise a "fence" to examine for hypogene and supergene skarn-manto type mineralization, which would be the source for the strong IP-magnetic anomaly at the property’s west-central part. The region’s outcrop has leached boxwork silica and garnet skarn that recommends strong supergene leaching of sulphide materials.
The property has included several significant artisanal type of mining works with surface and underground workings. The La Caridad and Cananea are the two copper mines in Sonora Mexico.
