Alderon Iron Ore has reported the primary drilling results from the current campaign conducted at the Kamistiatusset (Kami) iron ore project, west Labrador.
These drilling results are included in the presently outlined NI 43-101 resource calculation and are received from the Mills Lake zone. The company will utilize these results to improve the resource from the inferred group to the indicated group during the groundwork for the feasibility study.
The company has intersected 30.8% total iron over 31.5 m and 30.6% iron over 71.1 m in the hole K-11-118, 28.7% total iron over 17.1 m and 30.5% iron over 77.8 m in the hole K-11-120, 29.5% total iron over 9.1 m in the hole K-11-122A, 28.7% total iron over 58.0 in the hole K-11-125 and 30.7% total iron over 61.2 m in the hole K-11-126.
The location of the Mills Lake zone is around 3 km to the Rose zone’s southeast portion, which has a presently delineated NI 43-101 resource calculation of further inferred resource of 598 Mt at 30.3% iron and an indicated resource of 490 Mt at 30.0% iron.
The company has prepared all the samples from the sawn HQ- or NQ-sized half-core segments at the Labrador site. It has then sent split drill core samples to SGS Mineral Services in Ontario for testing. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) has used in total iron analysis and Satmagan magnetic analysis finds the magnetic constituent.
