Mountain Province Diamonds’ Airborne Survey Begins at Kennady North Diamond, Gahcho Kué Projects

Mountain Province Diamonds has begun the aerial gravity survey over its 49% owned Gahcho Kué JV project and 100% owned Kennady North Diamond project. Fugro Airborne Survey will perform this 50 m line spacing survey and is anticipating the completion by October end, based on the weather conditions.

The CEO and President of Mountain Province, has stated that this aerial survey is the first gravity survey to be performed over the Kennady Lake from the beginning of the exploration work. The company is confident that it will discover further kimberlites at both the projects. It should release the initial results in two weeks, once the survey is completed.

The company has started the drill program using the first of the two drill rigs at the Gahcho Kué Project’s Tuzo kimberlite, which is a part of the Tuzo Deep project. It has planned the drill campaign to examine the depth expansion of the Tuzo kimberlite, which is between 350 and 750 m. During the ongoing drill program, the company will drill five holes from two land-based platforms to the massive Tuzo kimberlite’s southern and northern part. The company is anticipating the arrival of the second drilling rig at Kennady Lake previous to October end and the completion of the five-hole drilling campaign before this year end. Final result analysis is likely to be obtained by the end of the first quarter of 2012.
