Mariana Resources Begins Fourth Drilling Program at Sierra Blanca Project

Mariana Resources has begun the fourth drilling campaign at its Sierra Blanca project in south Argentina.

The project is situated in the middle of Deseado Massif, which is a gold-silver province. The company will diamond drill for at least 5,000 m focused on the targets obtained from the previous drill program at Veta Chala and induced polarization (IP) geophysics that is newly completed. Veins-breccias and veins present at Vetarron, Chala and Lucila are the primary targets. The Trafwe target is the region enclosed by gravel between Lucila and Chala.

The drill campaign performed by Mariana at Veta Chala will continue with the past potential intersections at Chala Splay, Chala Central and Achen. It has intersected 1.5 g/t gold and 34 g/t silver over 20.3 m, 6.8 g/t gold and 23 g/t silver over 2.65 m in the hole CHD71 and 1.4 g/t gold, 11.5 g/t silver over 28.7 m and 9.5 g/t gold, 28 g/t silver over 3.0 m in the hole CHD61.

The company has cut a 5 m wide quartz vein and anomalous values of silver and gold at Lucila through the near surface drill program during 2008. The recently conducted IP survey has found a chargeability target at depth that may represent mineralized sulphide.

The location of the Trafwe target is 2 km to the strike length between Lucila and Chala, and is defined by a clear linear magnetic low. The IP survey conducted recently has also enclosed this gravel covered region.

The company has scheduled to drill at Vetarron in order to examine the chargeability anomalies and the coincident vein-breccia zones, situated in the prospect’s north portion.
