North American Nickel (NAN) is conducting the 1,500 m of drilling campaign at the Post Creek property. The focus of drilling is on the modeled plates, which were obtained from Abitibi Geophysics’ ground EM survey. This survey commenced during September, 2011 and was completed in October, 2011.
The examined targets are connected with the CJ formation, which is a belt of quartz diorite-dominated breccias and an incomplete melt with below 5% chalcopyrite, pyrite and pyrrhotite in outcrop. The company has inferred that this breccia is one section of a formerly unidentified embayment formation that has extensive deposits of copper-nickel-platinum group metal ore, located in the Sudbury mining camp.
The company has scheduled the drill holes PC-14, PC-15 and PC-16 to examine the EM targets present in the CJ Structure breccias. The hole PC-17 would serve as a platform for geophysics and the holes PC-15 and PC-16 for down-hole geophysics and stratigraphy. The hole PC-20 will examine a feeble ground EM anomaly located at the property’s south border but trending with the Whistle Offset formation, which houses the Podolsky mine that is presently producing.
NAN has logged the drill core and cut by means of a diamond saw and then sampled. AGAT Laboratories will carry out the assaying program and the results are anticipated to arrive in five weeks.
Lamontagne Geophysical Services has analyzed three drill holes by using a down-hole pulsed EM system. The company has planned to conduct the survey for three drill holes and will finish in 10 days.
