Calibre Mining has reported the drilling assay results of the PRTR11-012 and PRTR11-013 trenches found at the recently identified Primavera copper-gold prospect, located at the Borosi Project, northeast Nicaragua.
The company encountered constant mineralization of copper and gold over the PRTR11-012 trench and yielded 1313 ppm copper and 0.70 g/t gold over 58.0 m. The mineralization is open in every direction. It dug the trench PRTR11-012 towards east-west and the location of the trench is around 100 m to the southern part of the trench PRTR11-005, which yielded 680 ppm copper and 1.53 g/t gold over 51.25 m. Calibre has excavated a further trench at the Primavera system and is waiting for the assay results. The company has dug six trenches inside an 850 x 300 m copper and gold soil anomaly, which stays open for extending in an area with partial rock exposure.
Magnetite stockwork veining present in the well fractured and oxidized microdiorite and andesite are included in the mineralization located in the trenches. The company has found banded magnetite-quartz veins and veinlets in several orientations of veins. Trenches’ mineralization features and textures show dissimilar zones in the porphyry gold system.
Besides the six trenches, the company has dug 19 pits totally and sampled the rock chip, which has enclosed an area of 1.5 x 1.0 km at the Primavera mineralized system.
The current work continuing at the Primavera prospect has included additional soil sampling, line cutting for 100 km, a ground magnetics survey and 1.2 km of road construction for drilling access. Calibre is expecting to start the diamond drill program at the Primavera target in November, 2011.
