Atna Resources has encountered strong intercepts of gold at the Reward Gold Mine in Nevada. The company completed 8,880 of drilling, totaling 15 holes, during mid-October of 2011 and currently has obtained the drilling assay results.
The company has intersected 0.034 oz/t gold over 90 ft in the hole RW11-030, 0.040 oz/t gold over 55 ft and 0.026 oz/t gold over 150 ft in the hole RW11-031, 0.130 oz/t gold over 90 ft and 0.053 oz/t gold over 385 ft in the hole RW11-032.
James Hesketh, CEO and President of the company, stated that the positive results were obtained from this 2011 drilling, which will help in supporting the project’s economy. Mineralized gold that is along the main deposit’s southeastern part has been extended towards the eastern region for up to 200 ft and stays open to other expansions. This drilling campaign has shown the possibility of extending and raising the life of the mine at the Reward project.
The gently plunging siltstone units of the Good Hope fault zone and the Woods Canyon structure house gold mineralization. The company believes that this high-angle Good Hope fault zone to be the key hydrothermal feeder for the project’s gold mineralization.
