SEMAFO has continually encountered several broad zones of mineralized gold through the follow-up reverse-circulation (RC) infill drill program at the Yaho Zone. This zone stays open in every direction, away from the present 1.5 km of the prominent strike.
The company has yielded values of up to 2.55 g/t gold over 21 m, 1.31 g/t gold over 66 m through the infill drilling conducted at the strike’s north half. In addition, it has received the pending core drilling results.
The company conducted 3,465 m of current drilling, totaling 32 RC holes, over 10 segments along the prominent mineralization’s northern part at spacing of around 100 m. It has drilled 13,523 m and 951 m, totaling 99 RC and 3 core holes respectively, along 1.5 km strike length.
This RC drill phase has indicated the continuity of theYaho mineralization corridor laterally and at depth. The ongoing drill program conducted at the Yaho zone’s northern half is continually showing pervasive silicification and sericitization with the mineralization existing as stacked zones series in different thickness up to 66 m. SEMEFO identified mineralization in a new rock, which contains dispersed arsenopyrite and pyrite in different amounts of up to 10% locally. The extent of mineralization oxidation has attained up to 50 m in vertical beneath the surface, depending on the completion of the holes. The host unit bears gold completely though high-grade potential makes near surface dipping stacked lenses.
The company has planned for the next drill phase at the Yaho zone. It will contain spacing segments of 100 m along the significant zone’s southern half, and spaced lines of 200 m to the southern part of the southernmost segment, wherein up to 1.56 g/t gold over 19 m were obtained as RC drilling results.
