New America Energy has agreed to the financial plan for its proposed exploration at the Clayton Ridge lithium brine prospect (CR claims). The work is expected to commence in the subsequent weeks.
The CR claims are well situated near the Clayton Valley playa, which is on the Clayton Ridge Trough’s southern expansion, of around 5 mi to the southeastern part of the Chemetall Foote deposit. Many gravity geophysical surveys have outlined the Clayton Ridge Trough that has been considered being an important medium for the lithium brines, having percolated from the Montezuma Peak rhyolitic tuffs and the Alkali Hot Spring waters.
New America Energy’s President, Rick Walchuk, stated that the project is succeeding well. The company has almost completed the final schedule for the preliminary exploration campaign and is expecting the results in about six weeks after the commencement of the survey.
The primary exploration phase will include a full gravity survey over the claims for finding the basin’s depths and defines traps or troughs, which might have concentrations and economic values of lithium brines. It will exploit approximately 125 gravity stations.
Around two weeks will be taken for the project that contains mobilization and demobilization, in order to complete the field work and further 30 days for the analysis and the last report.
Hasbrouck Geophysics formerly performed a reconnaissance gravity survey in two lines over the CR claims. Jim Hasbrouck analyzed the data of the survey. The survey results showed the existence of large elevation and bedrock lows.
