Plato Gold has reported that St. Andrew Goldfields has completed the NQ diamond drill program of 900 m, totaling two holes, at the Plato Gold’s Guibord property located at the eastern part of Matheson in Ontario.
The location of this property is around 1.0 km along the Gold Pike mine’s geological strike and northeast portion of the Hislop mine of St. Andrew Goldfield.
Anthony J. Cohen, CEO and President of Plato Gold, stated that the company is excited about the completion of the drill campaign at the Guibord property. The work at the Guibord and Holloway properties by St. Andrew Goldfields and the previous drilling at the Nordeau East, have helped the company take forward the program in Quebec, Timmins, Val d’Or and Ontario. Work is on progress at the Lolita project in Argentina with positive results.
Interbedded mafic volcanics, sedimentary rock and ultramafic volcanics trending towards southeast are present under the Guibord property. This property has stratled the Destor Porcupine fault zone and the mineralized gold is connected with pyrite and alteration.
The Guibord property drilling cut moderate to robustly altered mafic volcanics along with differing amounts of dispersed sulfides. The company is waiting for the assay results for the fourth quarter.
