Pennant Energy has updated the operational activities at its Bigstone well in Alberta. It will be spudding the second Bigstone well during the first week of December.
The company will drill the DEI Bigstone Hz 15-32-60-22 W5M well, operated by the Donnybrook, from the similar drill pad as the Bigstone Hz 14-29 discovery well of Pennant, which examined the final day out of the four day production analysis at a rate of around 1,011 barrels of oil equivalent per day, 4.3 million cu. ft per day of natural gas and 295 barrels per day of condensate. A proposed 2,500 m +/- horizontal segment is present in the DEI Bigstone Hz 15-32 well.
A third Bigstone Montney well, which was operated by Donnybrook, will be spudded during Q1, 2012. There are a number of prospective sites for the third well. The seven sections at Bigstone are a joint venture by the company, which would assist 14-28 horizontal wells based on the every horizontal leg’s lateral length.
The company is discussing with the industry partners of the area to build a gathering system in Q1, 2012. It is expecting that all production of Bigstone project will be in line in April 2012. Pennant is looking forward to financially support the drilling of the subsequent two wells.
Pennant Energy’s President, Thomas Yingling, commented that this Bigstone discovery well surpassed the company’s expectations. Pennant has accelerated the development plans of the area. It is expecting to expand this project along with its partners.
