Lions Gate Metals Completes Phase II Diamond Drilling at Poplar Project

Lions Gate Metals has completed the phase II diamond drilling at the Poplar project, which is located 35 km from Huckleberry mine of Imperial Metals. The company drilled 10,913.93 m, totaling 29 holes, during this exploration phase. It has logged and sampled all the drill cores and sent the samples for analysis.

The company planned the phase II drilling to expand the program that was done during March, 2011. The geological team of the company planned a fresh drilling program to enhance the belief in the present resource, widen the Main Zone deposit’s boundaries at depth and in a lateral direction and to offer extensive information on gold and silver, based on the data received from previous drill campaigns.

The 2011 latest campaign has expanded the drilling for more than 16,481 m, totaling 42 holes. The company will increase its knowledge about the deposit and mineralization, due to the receipt of assay results. The company will utilize this fresh data to create an updated resource estimate, which will incorporate the silver and gold grades that are likely to increase the large grades of copper and molybdenum.

This project has a NI 43-101 compliant resource calculation of 245 Mt grading 0.27% copper, which has copper of 1.4 billion pounds. Giroux Consultants prepared this resource calculation, which was based on 105 previous drill holes and 13 diamond holes drilled by LGM during the spring of 2011. The phase II drilling will offer adequate information for the calculation of silver and gold grades, besides copper and molybdenum grades. Once the results are obtained and compiled from the phase II drill program, an updated resource calculation will be prepared. The results are anticipated during the spring of 2012.
