Global Minerals has updated on its regional exploration works activities nearby its Strieborná copper-silver deposit, Roznava Slovakia.
The company has controlled around 135 sq. km. of exploration concessions, which is adjacent to the Strieborná project region’s mining concessions. It has led the regional data collection for targeting the follow-up exploration in the Paca and Cucma areas. The previous Cucma antimony-gold district is around 3.5 km to the Strieborná deposit’s northern portion. Paca, which is located 1.5 km to the southeast part of Strieborná deposit, has shown a potential buried vein system identical to the Strieborná deposit.
The historic Cucma district has been explored in the post-WWII era for antimony. Currently, the company has closed and abandoned all the mines. It has been prospecting a vein system that is 4 km long. Rock samples have encountered high-grade antimony and gold from 3 km out of the 4 km system.
The company has completed resistivity surveys, geochemical sampling program and mercury spectrometry over the Cucma region. As the region is vegetated heavily, outcrops cannot be sampled. However, the previous work is shown by the caved adits, dumps and shafts. The company has been continually assessing the data and will find drilling targets for the subsequent year.
Global Minerals has discovered a potential buried vein system through the geophysical and geochemical prospecting and the vein system was situated 1.5 km to the Strieborná vein’s southeast part. It has identified mercury anomalies at Paca. This discovery along with the encouraging results from geophysical surveys, including resistivity and IP, has shown the potential for vein type mineralization. The company has completed further geophysical surveys and will complete a detailed estimation of this recently identified zone in the subsequent few months. It has intended to drill these targets during 2012.
The company has completed this season’s field work and will asses the results continuously to outline the prospective drill targets for preparing the work plan of 2012.
