Oroco Resource has started a condemnation and exploration drill campaign at the Cerro Prieto property, Mexico.
This drilling will contain at least 15 diamond drill holes, which have been planned to expand the Cerro Prieto deposit towards the southern portion of its formerly drill outlined limits. Surface sampling program has shown that the mineralized shear zone, which houses the deposit, is expanding for a minimum of 500 m towards the south of the resource limits announced in the property’s Preliminary Economic Assessment. The company will drill these holes to examine 100 m beneath the anomalous assays from the surface sampling program.
The company has intersected 21.0 g/t silver and 4.79 g/t gold over 5.2 m at line 150 N, 93.0 g/t silver and 2.49 g/t gold over 8.0 m at line 300 S, 250.0 g/t silver and 1.78 g/t gold over 1.2 m at line 220 S, 63.5 g/t silver and 7.4 g/t gold, 36.2 g/t silver and 4.08 g/t gold over 9.8 m at line 100 N, 53.3 g/t silver and 4.64 g/t gold over 5.5 m at line 272 S and 28.0 g/t silver, 2.36 g/t gold over 4.7 m at line 150 S.
The surface sampling campaign was performed by Oroco from 150 N, which is the Current Resource Area’s southern edge, along the strike expansion of around 500 m to line 350 S. The company has taken samples from the open mineralized zone and has not tried to expand the exposures.
The company will drill further condemnation drill holes at the proposed locations for the crushing facility and the leach pad. The total campaign will include 2,000 m of drilling.
