Xmet has announced more encouraging drilling results from the current Phase II campaign conducted at the Duquesne Ottoman project.
The company is expecting to close this phase II drilling campaign during mid-December. This drilling will be extended for more than 7,000 m at this project, which has totalled to more than 20,000 m as the company was drilling since September 2010.The drilling’s latest phase is focused on the large resource extension of the present inferred resource of 727,000 oz gold. The results from the drill program continue to extend the shallow mineralized gold in the Shaft zone.
The company has intersected 5.18 g/t gold over 4.55 m in the hole DO-11-46, 3.63 g/t gold over 2.8 m in the hole DO-11-49, 4.0 g/t gold over 11.7 m in the hole DO-11-51, 2.45 g/t gold over 2.3 m in the hole DO-11-52 and 0.75 g/t gold over 20.55 m in the hole DO-11-50.
Xmet cut these holes DO-11-42, DO-11-43, DO-11-44, DO-11-45 and DO-11-47 and encountered highly anomalous and low-grade gold values.
The company has received the material samples from the drill core for assaying and analysis, wherein the drill core was cut in half by means of a diamond saw. It sent half of the core to the laboratory for testing. Activation Laboratory of Quebec performed the analysis.
