Goldex Resources has inked an agreement with 'Forage Orbit Garant Drilling’s subsidiary Drift de Mexico to drill up to 4000 m, through a preliminary drilling campaign at El Arco project in Mexico.
Drilling is expected to commence at the earliest. The company has planned for a 15,000 m exploratory drilling campaign, totaling 50 holes at the project based on the phase I reverse circulation (RC) results. The El Arco property has several prominent mines, which includes La Cienega mine, Topia property, Oremex Silvers flagship 'Tejamen' concession.
According to Larry Kornze, VP of exploration, previously the regional manager for Central America and Mexico for Barrick Gold said that El Arco is an excellent undrilled property in the Americas. A future drilling campaign is being planned. The El Arco property is an epithermal low-sulfidation quartz vein, containing gold and silver, and stockwork system present in tertiary volcanic and near-surface intrusive rocks, including andesitic and rhyolite.
The newly identified Arco project has not been formerly explored. Geologic mapping and surface sampling of rock and vein outcrops were included in the work conducted at the El Arco properties. Recently, Governmental agencies permitted the company to drill the concession.
