Midland Exploration, along with Osisko Mining, has commenced drilling at the Casault gold property. Midland has 100% control over the Casault property, which is situated approximately 40 km towards the Detour Lake gold deposit’s eastern part.
The Detour Lake deposit has a total gold of 16.45 Moz in indicated and measured resources. The company has planned to begin the production at the Detour Lake gold deposit in the beginning of 2013.
Two drilling rigs will be employed in the initial program and will cover a drilling area of approximately 5,000 m. Analysis of the Sunday Lake regional fault zone, discovery of mineralized zones and alteration models are the main aim of the drilling program. The presence of possible gold along the Sunday Lake fault over a strike, whose length is over 8 km, will be examined by drilling 20 diamond drill holes. The company has planned to commence the program in mid-January 2012. A new structural analysis along with a helicopter-borne VTEM-type electromagnetic survey has located many fresh targets in the property, particularly along the Sunday Lake regional fault zone.
Midland’s Casault property contains 321 claims, which covers approximately 176.4 sq. km of the total surface area. The company control more than 20 km along the main Sunday Lake deformation zone. This Casault property is located contiguous towards the Martinière property’s western part. Balmoral Resources holds Martinière property, which returned 11.18 g/t gold over 12.0 m and 2.4 g/t gold over 72.0 m.
