Northern Gold Mining has reported the assay results from 2011 exploration program conducted at Garrcon deposit. This exploration consists of 2,427 m of drilling, totaling seven diamond drill holes. This Garrcon deposit is situated on the Garrison gold property, which is 100 km towards the eastern part of Timmins in Ontario.
The company has returned 0.5 g/t gold over 277 m in hole GAR-11-110, 3.23 g/t gold over 8 m, 2.17 g/t gold over 10 m and 0.5 g/t gold over 426 m in hole GAR-11-111, 2.18 g/t gold over 10 m in hole GAR-11-112. The intersection of 1.94 g/t gold over 1 m has been validated at 490 m of vertical depth. The company has defined an average of 0.57 g/t gold from surface to a vertical depth of 453 m.
As a part of the 2011 Garrcon deposit exploration, Northern Gold has obtained the assay reults of four holes that were drilled in the resource footprint’s southern part. The company has drilled along section lines 11+00 W and 10+00 W and has defined the composite assay intervals in the mineralization present in the Shaft zone.
Northern Gold has drilled three holes to the north. These holes have validated the continuous occurrence of mineralized gold near and along the contact of the ultramafic rocks, bordering northwards, and the Timiskaming metasediments. The resource footprint of Howe features the drill hole GAR-11-107. The GAR 11-120 and GAR-11-121 holes are located in the western part of the Howe resource footprint. These two holes have shown the necessity to conduct further step out exploration in order to track mineralization along the North zone trend on strike towards the West.
