New Pacific Metals Announces Remaining Hole Results from Mt. Skukum Gold Deposit

New Pacific Metals has reported the 2011 remaining drill hole assays from the Mt. Skukum gold deposit’s Lake zone. This deposit is situated at the Tagish Lake gold project in Canada. The Skukum Creek deposit has bulk resources of the project.

Overview of Mt. Skukum Lake Zone Geology

According to the company, adequate drilling information is available to conclude a fresh resource estimate across Goddell, Mt. Skukum and Skukum Creek deposits of the project.

New Pacific has encountered 29.6 g/t gold and 113 g/t silver over 1.50 m in hole MS11-03, 1.65 g/t gold and 1.6 g/t silver over 2.00 m in hole MS11-05, 1.48 g/t gold and 12.5 g/t silver over 2.00 m in hole MS11-07, 5.01 g/t gold and 3.40 g/t silver over 2.00 m in hole MS11-08, 26.6 g/t gold and 17 g/t silver over 1.4 m in hole MS11-09, 30.25 g/t gold and 29.53 g/t silver over 3.5 m in hole MS11-13. Holes MS11-04, 06, 10,11,12,14, and 15 did not return any significant results.

The high-grade gold mineralization, intercepted during drill program in 1980, has been validated by these assays. Two main stockwork veins, containing adularia, calcite, sericite and quartz, of the Lake zone show the down-dip and strike continuity.

The historical high-grade pockets are authenticated by the 2011 drilling results. Additional drilling will be conducted to outline the separate stock-work vein zones. The disseminated sulphide zones with reasonable mineralization are not shown in the 2011 drilling results.

An additional drill program has been planned to investigate the deposit’s potential; the high grade zone will be refined and resources will be added to the proposed new resource estimations planned for 2012.
