Tiex has reported the initial drill hole results from the Viewland project. A primary exploration phase has been conducted at the company’s six porphyry gold-copper projects in central British Columbia.
The company completed 1,044 m of reverse-circulation (RC) program at the project. This RC program is approximately half of the proposed program and has analyzed one coincident geophysical and geochemical target located in the Viewland region.
The company drilled 1,044 m, totaling seven reconnaissance RC holes, during 2011 in order to examine the area measuring 200x1400 m. This area has a chargeability high, magnetic high and high anomalous copper in soils. Propyllitically altered monzodiorite and diorite, having more dispersed pyrrhotite and pyrite, were intercepted by all the drill holes. Pyritic hornfelsed argillite was found in three holes. The assay results confirmed the occurrence of the sulphide-bearing diorite with concentrations of anomalous copper.
Tiex has intersected 0.10% copper over 6.1 m in RC hole VL11-01, 0.06% copper over 47.3 m in RC Hole VL11-05 and 0.04% copper over 53.3 m in RC Hole VL11-07.
The Viewland project data collected during 2011 has suggested that the drill tested geophysical and geochemical anomaly is deeper in the hydrothermal system. This anomaly has returned porphyry mineralization and alteration in the present drill program. The company has received positive primary results and has planned to drill 2,000 m at the project, by drilling approximately 950 m on the left over anomalies in 2012.
