Calibre Mining and B2Gold have reported the drilling results of the initial three holes drilled at the Primavera project in Northeast Nicaragua. The occurrence of extensive copper and gold has been confirmed by the assay results of these holes in December 2011.
These mineral values are same as the former surface trenching results. The trenching and drill programs have analyzed a strike length of around 250 m located in the original soil anomaly, containing copper and gold, of more than 800x300 m. The mineralization at this project is exposed to every direction. Porphyry style mineralization that is present in the intrusive and volcanic rocks in the golden triangle area is reliable with the obtained results.
The company has intersected 0.85 g/t gold and 3240 ppm copper over 103 m in hole PR-11-001, 0.78 g/t gold and 2966 ppm copper over 261.7 m, 1.01 g/t gold and 3561 ppm copper over 134.5 m in hole PR-11-002, 0.74 g/t gold and 3114 ppm copper over 77.35 m in hole PR-11-003. Mineralization stays exposed in the holes, PR-11-002 and PR-11-003.
The mineralized intervals present in vein and stockwork mineralization, which is found in popular copper-gold porphyry systems, were cut by these three holes. Mineralization comprises bornite, chalcopyrite, magnetite and quartz bearing veining and stockwork. This stockwork and veining are found within potassically altered intermediate intrusive and volcanic rocks. The deepening of PR-11-003 has been resumed. . The company is expecting to conduct 2000 m of diamond drill program to outline the level of the porphyry system.
The company will be assessing a number of untested copper-gold anomalies that were discovered on the Primavera concession.
