Mineral exploration company, Evrim Resources has released the first assay results from the drill program, which is being conducted at the Suaqui Verde project located in Sonora, Mexico.
Evrim and Inmet Mining, the funding partner, has obtained the assay results for six drill holes measuring 2,625 m of an extended 6,200 m drill program. The project is designed to examine both exposed surface targets and geophysical targets in the Adriana system and the adjacent basin.
The drill holes DHSV11004 and DHSV11003 that are within the Adriana system and situated 1,000 m apart returned extensive intersections from surface of copper mineralization existing in biotite-albite-K-feldspar modified granodiorite intrusive rocks.
Furthermore, the drill hole DHSV11003 returned 402.2 m of 0.04 g/t gold, 0.13% copper, 0.005% molybdenum and 1.1 g/t silver, including 0.07 g/t gold, 116.2 m of 0.19% copper, 0.006% molybdenum and 1.3 g/t silver. The drill hole DHSV11004 returned 354.6 m of 0.04 g/t gold, 0.14% copper, 0.002% molybdenum and 1.1 g/t silver, including 58 m of 0.06 g/t gold, 0.22% copper, 0.002% molybdenum and 1.8 g/t silver. The drilling outlined an east-northeast passage of irregular copper mineralization measuring 1,700x500 m.
The Suaqui Verde’s Adriana system shows an exposed 2x4 km propylitic-phyllic-potassic modification foot print, which signifies a copper-molybdenum porphyry system prior to being enclosed by post mineralization basin fill.
Present drilling at Adriana system concentrated on analyzing deeper portions of the system in a sequence of broad step outs ranging from 500 to 1,300 m. Drilling within the basin concentrated on discovering new porphyry extensions or centres to the Adriana system.
So far, drill holes DHSV11006, DHSV11005, DSHV11002 and DHSV11001 have been completed. The drill hole DHSV11001, which is situated 1.6 km north of DHSV11003, crisscrossed anomalous copper mineralization in moderately quartz-sericite-pyrite modified andesite volcanic rocks with small quartz-tourmaline breccias and monzonite intrusive rocks. The hole DHSV11002, which is situated 730 m to the northeast of DHSV11003, crisscrossed the anomalous molybdenum and copper mineralization in fairly chlorite overprinting weak biotite-albite modified granodiorite intrusive rock.
The holes DHSV11006 and DHSV11005 that are situated about 4.5 km east of the Adriana system did not provide any major results.
The drilling project has been increased to about 6,200 m in view of Inmet's commitment to examining deeper targets at the Suaqui Verde property and cost efficiencies with drill contractors. The drilling program is anticipated to continue till March and will examine more targets in the Adriana system as well as in the basin region.
