TomaGold has commenced the drilling of 3,000 m, totaling 21 holes, at the 100% owned Monster Lake property. This property is situated towards the southwestern part of the Chibougamau-Chapais mining districts.
Recently, the company purchased the Monster lake property, along with Stellar Pacific Ventures’ two other gold projects namely Vassan and Urban. Stellar previously drilled 5,235 m, totaling 46 diamond drill holes, on the gold bearing structures that was outlined along a NNE striking mineralized corridor of length 4 km. The mineralization is associated with dark sulphide-quartz veins present in an altered shear zone, whose thickness ranges from 3 to 10 m in basaltic units. Stellar received significant results along the mineralized system.
TomaGold will follow Stellar’s definition drill program, which is based on the surface mineralization that was outlined by intensive channel sampling and stripping conducted during the fall and summer of 2011. Many segments of the mineralized system, which has newly identified zones in the property’s southern part and the prominent Eratix showing located at the property’s centre.
The location of the Monster Lake property is 44 km towards the southwest part of the town of Chibougamau, North Quebec. SOQUEM drilled diamond core for approximately 20,000 m, totaling 142 holes, from 1984 to 1995. Many trenches were excavated by SOQUEM along this mineralized corridor of length 4 km.
