ICN Resources has declared the assay results from the 11 core holes drilled late in 2011 at the Goldfield Bonanza Project, as part of its Phase II drilling program. The project, which has been optioned from Lode Star Gold, is situated in the Goldfield mining locality of Nevada.
The Goldfield district is famous for bonanza grade, multi-ounce gold ores and has produced over 4.1 million ounces of gold at a typical grade of higher than 17 g/t gold.
Highlights of the drilling program comprise 18.4 m of 4.47 g/t gold, including 3.7 m of 15.6 g/t gold; 31.4 m 2.73 g/t gold, including 1.8 m of 37.7 g/t gold; and 25.3 m 4.10 g/t gold, including 3.0 m of 17.1 g/t gold.
The company had completed the Phase II drilling program in late 2011, with a total of 34 reverse circulation holes for about 3,750 m and 11 core holes for over 1,000 m. The assay results of reverse circulation holes have already been announced. These holes comprise results of 36.6 m of 1.68 g/t gold, 13.7 m of 6.63 g/t gold, 21.3 m of 2.30 g/t gold, 3.0 m of 10.87 g/t gold, and 50.3 m of 1.32 g/t gold.
The reverse circulation holes targeted both CSAMT geophysical anomalies and exploration regions that were not tested by the company. The 11 core holes are situated in the Church Zone’s region. This zone comprises a number of core holes with intercepts of medium to high grade gold over major lengths, as demonstrated by the past intercepts of 45.6 m of 96.3 g/t gold; 23.2 m of 10.51 g/t gold; 14.9 m of 164.5 g/t gold; 63.0 m of 1.75 g/t gold; and 12.0 m of 222.6 g/t gold.
ICN Resources’ President and CEO, Carl Hering said that the company is happy to obtain all the core results from the Church Zone and to receive evidence of the continuity of mineralization in the region. The results combined with the past data would enable the company to outline the structural direction of the higher grade mineralization. This procedure and the preliminary metallurgic work will be taken into account while designing additional drilling on the property, Hering concluded.
