Invenio Resources, a Canada-based exploration company, declared that a diamond drilling program will be conducted at the Ganes Creek gold project situated in Southwest Interior Alaska. The drill program has been planned to examine about 1.2 km of the 11.5 km-long Yankee-Ganes Creek gold trend. It will also target the two zones inside the Main Ridge region. The company can earn a 100% interest in the project.
The 2012 summer drill program is planned for roughly 6,000 m in 20 angled main holes and will analyze the tenor of surface mineralization at two potential regions, Katz and Pzs Ridge, situated in the Main Ridge. Both regions show numerous styles of gold mineralization that exist in modified sediments and felsic intrusions. The regions’ induced polarization geophysical signatures denote continuity along strike for about 900 m at Katz and 800 m at Pzs Ridge. Both regions are exposed along strike.
The company has modeled 2D induced polarization data from its 2011 survey below the Katz and Pzs Ridge regions and this data demonstrates positive alterations in chargeability and resistivity that denote a potential for major modification and increased sulfide.
Back in 2011, the company performed an induced polarization ground geophysical survey at the Ganes Creek gold project that enclosed about 8 sq. km. This survey was carried out to limit the geophysical signatures delineated in a 2008 survey along the Lower Bench and Main Ridge areas, where considerable gold anomalous intercepts exist. In addition, the survey expanded Katz and Pzs Ridge’s geophysical signatures below their enclosed extensions along strike.
A fence of vertical drill fans will be used to analyze the structurally controlled and dispersed gold mineralization; the thickness of the mineralized corridor in the Main Ridge; and the perceived geophysical anomalies. The 2012 drilling data will allow the company to build the first geological cross sections for the regions which will be useful for comprehending the mineralization at the Ganes Creek gold project.
A multi-year permit application has been submitted by the company to the Alaska Department of Natural Resources for the forthcoming drilling project. Permit approval is anticipated to be received by March of 2012.
Drill sites, which have been planned at the Ganes Creek gold project, will be accessed through roads. The company has already deployed the necessary equipment for mobilization of skid-mounted drill-rigs at the site of the project.
