Kalimantan Gold (KGC), together with its joint venture Tigers Realm Minerals, has declared the completion of community consultation regarding the proposed exploration works at the Jelai gold project.
The company has received complete support from the village leaders, local community and government.
It started the community development programs (CSR) before the exploration works with sustainable projects, which has the aim of contributing to the local people’s welfare. More than 100 local community members will be involved in these programs. Tiger's multi-disciplined community group and KGC will train and mentor the group members. These community members are related to fodder and forage cultivation, animal husbandry, farming, small business and accounting development.
The technical teams of Tigers and KGC has renovated the Tanjung Selor office, started the construction of camp at Mewet prospect in order to accommodate drilling works, has begun construction of the base camp, formed agreements for main supplies, revamped 50% of the road, has located initial drill holes and surveyed access tests.
The company may build Mewet base camp by early March and is expected to start drilling immediately after the camp construction. The hole KTR-MEW1100-001 is the first planned hole and is focused on high-grade shoots at deep extents of the epithermal mineralization, containing silver and gold, in the hole JCM-067 that encountered 7.08 g/t gold over 9.50 m. The company has engaged PT Indodrill Indonesia to perform the phase I drilling for 8,000 m, totaling around 30 holes.
