TriStar Gold has reported the results of the primary 5,000 m drill program conducted at the Castelo de Sonhos Gold Project, Brazil. The company has obtained the results from 24 out of 33 diamond holes, which are to be drilled at three various targets.
The company has drilled 4,963.15 m, totaling up to 31 holes. Among these 31 holes, 14 holes are drilled at Esperança Center target and 17 holes are drilled at Esperança South target.
The company’s drill program has two main goals. One is to examine a huge soil anomaly at Esperança South, together with a 3,200 m zone of open cuts. Second is to study another huge soil anomaly at Esperança Center. The company will drill one hole in order to examine an aerial geophysical anomaly that is situated at the Esperança Center hill’s western parts.
TriStar drilled all holes in horizontal direction that were inclined from 45° to 55°. These holes were planned to cut the mineralized layers at right angles.
Elton Pereira, TriStar’s Vice President of Exploration stated that these recent drilling results are similar to the historic results. The mineralized intercepts present in conglomerates are same as those yielded at similar gold deposits related with proterozoic conglomerates such as Jacobina in Northeast Brazil. The soil anomalies jointly following the conglomerate layers have expanded for at least 7.5 km. the company can explore lot in this project.
According to Mark E Jones III, TriStar’s CEO and President, the company is delighted to commence the drill program at the Castelo de Sonhos project and is expecting to continue the program in order to search for further targets in the region.
