Kestrel Gold has reported the primary results of the surface sampling program conducted at the trenches and road cuts of the Huachi property in Argentina. This surface sampling is performed along with the 2011 diamond drilling program.
The company has processed and compiled the results obtained from 223, one metre continuous chip samples. The sampling program was mainly conducted over six lines that enclose the outcrops identified along the trenches and roads on the Cerro Los Bronces’ eastern hill side.
Kestrel has encountered 0.64 g/t gold over 6.0 m, 1.61 g/t gold over 13.0 m and 4.40 g/t gold over 7.0 m from new continuous chip road segments.
These high-grade gold results have suggested that the best surface samples are the intersection of the NW structures, which is considered to be a continuation of the Sentazon structure.
The company stated the significant values from two analogous road cuts that were trending towards northeast for up to 30 m. Vuggy textured silica veins occur in highly altered, partly fractured and brecciated feldspar-quartz porphyry. The sampled feldspar-quartz porphyry rocks, bearing gold, show a dominant NW trending cleavage or fracture along with strong argillic alteration.
The company is expecting the results from the holes 11-HU-21, 11-HU-22 and 11-HU-23 and from additional surface trench sampling conducted at the road cuts.
