Champion Bear Resources has reported that it has started the exploration programs for 2012 at its copper-gold-nickel-palladium-platinum properties, which are situated in the Sudbury Mining Camp of Northeast Ontario.
The company has begun drilling at the Hess property and has planned the field work for the Ermatinger and Iron Mask properties. An adjacent package of length 35 km is formed by the three properties in the Sudbury Structure’s northern range footwall and these properties enclose under-explored Offset Dyke, which is a Sudbury rock-type, for many kilometres. This rock-type hosts many copper-nickel-precious metal mines located in the Sudbury Camp.
Champion Bear has commenced a 550 m drilling program at the Hess property and this drilling has targeted many untested electro-magnetic (EM) conductors. The conductors have created a trend of length 800 m, which is coincident with the Hess Offset dyke trend that has many shallow showings of copper-nickel-palladium-platinum sulphide. The property is the company’s 50:50 joint venture with Wallbridge Mining.
The Iron Mask property is located immediately on strike of the drilling at the Hess property and has not been explored for high-potential Offset Dyke material. The company has planned for field work at the Iron Mask property and the work is specifically designed to form Offset Dyke targets to conduct drill testing. Field work will be done continuously at the Ermatinger property to outline a new Offset Dyke trend, discovered through former ground work.
