Sandspring Resources Announces Additional Positive Results from its Infill Drill Programme

Sandspring Resources has announced positive results from its Infill Drill Programme located at the Toroparu Gold Deposit in the Republic of Guyana, South America. The company published results from infill core holes TPD-326-362 and TPD 363-366.

While TPD-326-362 includes 27 holes that are located in the eastern mineralised zone and 10 holes located in the western mineralised zone at the Toropary Gold Deposit, TPD 363-366 includes 8 holes located 1.2 km southeast of the Toroparu Gold Deposit boundary.

The Infill Drill programme was primarily undertaken with a target of discovering surface saprolite and fresh rock mineralisation. Other target was to convert the inferred mineral resources into measured and indicated mineral resources. Gold mineralisation was discovered at drill holes TPD 363, 365 and 366 with the following specific results:

  • TPD 363: 15 m of 1.7 g/t Au and 87 m at 1.60 g/t Au
  • TPD 365: 22.5 m at 1.74 g/t Au and 12 m at 1.28 g/t Au
  • TPD 366: 52.5 m at 1.23 g/t Au and 52.5 m at 0.92 g/t Au

The total amount of diamond core drilling amounts to 9,241 m including the drill holes TPD 326-366. For the year 2012, this is the first batch of holes to be drilled and reported. As of now, a total of 158,045 m of drilling has been reported at the Toroparu Gold Deposit.
