United Silver has announced the commencement of further exploration and development work at Crescent Silver Mine. The company aims to explore and develop the existing silver resource and to explore other resources present within the 80% company owned share of Crescent Silver Mine.
The 365 ha property is situated at the central Silver Belt of Northern Idaho and in between the Bunker Hill silver-lead-zinc mine and the Sunshine silver mine.
Work has begun on the Countess spiral ramp system present in the footwall of the South Vein resource region and at the entrance of existing Big Creek #4 adit. The portal of the adit will be broadened and inclined for linking the Countess spiral. After completion, the adit will help in providing aeration and also will become a secondary way for escape.
Simultaneously, exploration drifting test will be performed at South Vein and the produced ore will be processed further at New Jersey plant, which is situated close to Crescent. The expansion work of the plant, to process Crescent ore, is nearing completion and the work for commissioning has begun in the plant.
The company has already signed a contract with Formation Metals for selling the concentrate produced using ore. The company anticipates that the expenses for exploration of Crescent mine can be met through the ore obtained by exploration drifting test.
