Avino Silver & Gold Mines has reported the results of the primary hole drilled during the 2012 program conducted at the Elena - Tolosa (ET) zone located at the company’s main mine in Mexico.
This primary hole is drilled as a part of the program for exploring a region located in the company’s main vein system beneath the mine’s twelfth level, where mining was stopped during 2001.
Remaining resources were 1,681,253 t, including 0.63% copper, 0.92 g/t gold and 100 g/t silver, at the closing time. The drill program completed in the region between the years, 2006 and 2012 will be added to this total.
The company signed a new contract during February 2012 for mining the main Avino vein. The 2012 drilling at the main Avino vein has been planned to increase resource’s confidence and to extend tonnage. This is the initial phase to bring the back the mine on line.
When Avino completed the 2012 drilling program, it will assess the results of the 30 holes, which were drilled between 2006 and 2012, to a fresh NI 43-101 compliant resource calculation of the possible resource. Currently, the drill rig is at the hole #5.
The Avino deposit strikes towards the east-west direction. The company drills all holes from south towards north at different dip angles and bearings for cutting the structure. The company’s Long year 44 core rig is used to drill holes and cuts the core at its core storage unit.
