Bacanora Minerals Reports Lithium Drilling Results from Ventana Property

Bacanora Minerals has announced the final assay results from its second phase of drilling at its Ventana lithium property in eastern Sonora, Mexico. The property included 1,465 m in eight NQ-core drill holes. Bacanora has also declared the third round of drilling at El Sauz and Ventana properties.

The company has identified two lithium bearing sections, which are divided by an ignimbritic tuff that was used as a marker bed. From the upper unit, the typical width and grade has been verified to be 11.38 m at 2,833 ppm lithium, while from the lower unit, the typical width and grade was 19.08 m at 4,069 ppm lithium. The entire samples from the second round of drilling were sent to ALS-Chemex Lab, wherein a 4-acid digestion technique was used to test for lithium.

The third lithium drilling program at the Ventana property is likely to involve 2,000 m of exploratory drilling in 10 NQ-core holes. The goal of this drilling program is to assess the continuity of the lithium bearing clays down dip and laterally as the deposit has been verified to be 3,000x300 m wide at a depth of 200 m. The third round drill program will create a grid of 400 m, which could be used for producing a resource of Lithium Carbonate Equivalent.

The drill program at the El Sauz property will involve roughly 500 m of drilling in two NQ-core drill holes. The aim of the program is to analyze the mineralization, which was identified on prior reconnaissance activities. The mineralization showed a volcano-sedimentary section of 120+ m thickness that remains exposed in a semi-mountainous region, enclosing 1,200X400 m in a number of outcrops. About 125 samples were obtained that averaged 1,000 ppm lithium and also included a potassium average of 0.5%.

In addition to the drilling activity, systematic sampling and mapping are being performed on other lithium target regions, including the company’s 100% owned San Gabriel and Buenavista properties.
