Strateco Resources has announced the initial results of the 2012 drill program conducted at the Matoush uranium deposit. This 15,000 m drill campaign has aimed to outline the zone mineralization identified during 2010 and 2011.
The company has drilled four holes, totaling 2,522 m, at the Matoush uranium deposit. Extensive high grades were intersected by the two holes, which were drilled at the new MT-34A lens’ south expansion during early April. Strateco cut 2.19% eU3O8 over 6.7 m in hole MT-12-003, 2.76% eU3O8 over 2.8 m and 0.50% eU3O8 over 25.5 m in hole MT-12-004.
Strateco drilled other two holes at the Matoush deposit in order to examine the south and north expansions of the new MT-02 lens’ mineralization. The company encountered 0.05% eU3O8 over 0.9 m in hole MT-12-001 and 0.34% eU3O8 over 1.6 m in hole MT-12-002.
Additionally, it drilled 779 m, totaling four grass roots holes, at the Matoush expansion property during early March 2012. The goal of these holes was to examine two geophysical lineaments and the radon anomalies, which were discovered during the survey conducted in the fall of 2011. The company did not find any uranium results, other than a new dyke discovery.
The company is undergoing definition drilling at the Matoush project and has drilled only 3,301 m out of the proposed 15,000 m of the 2012 program.
