Harvest Gold has declared that it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with DLK Minerals with the intent to purchase the Esker project in the neighborhood of Pickle Lake, Ontario.
The Esker project is situated 61 km southeast of Pickle Lake, Ontario surrounding Pickle Lake Greenstone Belt. The Belt is located within prolific Uchi Subprovince which previously represented more than 30 M oz of gold. The Esker project is close to the southeast with the Golden Patricia deposit generating 450,000 oz of gold at a 14.91 g/t head grade.
Founded in 1988 by St. Joe Canada, Esker Zone conducts the Esker project. Esker Zone represents only limited diamond drilling and geophysical surveys. The BIF zone at Esker represents strongly deformed iron formation including pyrite, pyrrhotite, and minor chalcopyrite including gold bearing divisions ranging in the 2-5% sulphide and thinner sections of up to 40% sulphide. The second zone includes blue-grey quartz veins directed biotite-carbonate altered mafic metavolcanic rocks, analogous to the Golden Patricia deposit’s geological setting.
CEO of Harvest Gold, Rick Mark says that the Esker Project reflects with Harvest Gold’s target of exploring and creating high-grade precious metals. This project is considered to be important representing strike potential of Golden Patricia Vein and secondary gold targets like iron formation hosted gold existing in the area.
