Concordia Resource has reported that the company has completed the primary field program at the Cerro Amarillo porphyry project, containing copper, gold and molybdenum, in Argentina.
Map of the Cerro Amarillo Property
The Cerro Amarillo property has enclosed 14,222 ha. A series of porphyries namely C4, Cajon Grande, and Cerro Amarillo are present in this property, which also has additional three alteration or color anomalies in a structural corridor. It has been indicated through rock sampling and comprehensive mapping that there are at least three mineralized systems together with select hand samples, which yielded grades up to 57 g/t gold and 8% copper.
BHP Billiton (BHPB) carried out previous sampling program at the Cajon Grande porphyry target and encountered mineral values up to 4.2 g/t gold, 4.4% copper and 1,500 g/t silver. Values up to 2.4 g/t gold, 1.5% copper and 334 ppm molybdenum and 765 g/t silver were obtained from Concordia’s samples. Samples obtained from epithermal veins of sulphide-siderite-barite distal towards the intrusion returned up to 2.5 g/t gold, 8.2% copper and 100 g/t silver.
The phase I exploration program has resulted in the drilling targets expansion for a first-stage drill campaign, which will be carried out later with the commencement of the austral spring. The company is initially discussing with its joint venture partners for the current exploration at the property.
A drill proposal may carry out examination of the three discovered porphyry systems. The company has planned for further sampling, mapping, and geophysics in order to explore the property’s additional color anomalies.
