McLaren Resources has announced the update on the progress of the exploration program carried out at the TimGinn Property. This property is situated on strike and nearby the Hollinger or McIntyre mine complex.
A mineralized strike of length 2,000 m spans from north east to south west direction at the property. The company conducted mining on the property’s three sides at the adjacent mines, which include the McIntyre and Hollinger mines located in central Timmins.
Many areas of interest were discovered for the upcoming exploration, by means of the earlier work carried out at the TimGinn property. The company has specifically designed an exploration drilling campaign to follow up the new drilling program. The exploration drill program will focus on additionally extending the mineralized gold zones to depth and along strike in the area, where previous production was carried out from 1929 to 1937 and underground production to 500 ft depth.
The company has intended to start the exploration drill program in early summer 2012 in order to follow up the encouraging results from its primary program. The positive results included 24.2 g/t gold over 1.1 m, 7.4 g/t gold over 7.0 m and 6.0 g/t gold over 3.0 m between surface and 500 ft depth. Exploration has been limited at the near-surface depths of the property, which has virtually not been explored beneath 900 ft. Considerable amount of gold has been produced from the neighbouring properties to a depth that surpasses 6,000 ft.
