To strengthen Pennsylvania's presence in the global economy, the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) will lead a 24-company delegation to the Global Petroleum Show (GPS) in Calgary in order to establish the presence of Pennsylvania in the international economy.
Suppliers, manufacturers, companies and distributors worldwide will offer Pennsylvania companies the chance of participation in the Pennsylvania Pavilion 2012, one-on-one meetings and to attend workshops for facilitating entrance to global markets.
C. Alan Walker, DCED Secretary stated that potential companies and new markets will learn about Pennsylvania companies through these events. Shale gas and oil sands in Canada offer a great opportunity to Pennsylvania companies, which contain unique solutions and products, according to Walker.
Global Petroleum Show 2012 is being held from June 12 to 14 at the Stampede Park in Calgary. More than 2,000 companies will be showcasing their new emerging technology in the GPS 2012.
Walker stated that the commonwealth is now mainly extending its natural gas extraction industry. This GPS show offers a great opportunity for Canadian and Pennsylvania companies, who look for new collaborations and technologies in the respective markets, he added.
The 2012 Pennsylvania Pavilion will include 12 companies. Aston-based Pennsylvania Machine Works, high-pressure forged steel pipe-fittings manufacturer, will participate in this show to extend opportunities for future growth.
Six partners from Pennsylvania will attend a two-hour presentation, which will detail specific business opportunities in Marcellus Shale area of Pennsylvania.
Reed Smith, the Penn State Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research (PSMCOR), Trican Well Services, Pittsburgh Regional Alliance and The Judge Group will also participate in the presentation.
