Lithium Americas (LAC) has declared that the results of the definitive feasibility study (DFS) will be announced for the Cauchari-Olaroz lithium-potash project, on June 18, 2012. ARA WorleyParsons prepared this DFS results. A conference call has been scheduled on the same day in order to discuss about the DFS.
This project is one of the most highly developed lithium brine projects in the globe. The project was changed from discovery to DFS in a systematic way and in less than three years. The company has reached a milestone in terms of budget and time. LAC with the help of an experienced engineering team has built a pilot scale testing and production plant in the area. Till date, the company has satisfied all the necessary permitting and environmental needs and helps to continuously expand the Cauchari-Olaroz project.
According to the company’s CEO and President, Dr. Waldo Perez, and Executive Chairman, Tom Hodgson, Lithium Americas will organize the conference call on June 18, 2012, and send invitations to investors and analysts.
Lithium Americas is a developer of low-cost lithium operations and has been described as the third main producer of lithium brine resource in the globe. According to a completed preliminary economic assessment (PEA) report, it has been estimated that the company operates lithium carbonate at the lowest rate in the industry. The company’s shareholders are Magna International and Mitsubishi.
