Kootenay Silver and Pinecrest Resources have announced results from the phase I drill program carried out at the Espiritu polymetallic vein/breccia project located in Mexico.
A total of 409 m in five diamond holes were drilled on two prominent mineralized regions, rich in silver. Three drill holes examined the Molinos zone, wherein two holes assessed the Road Show zone.
Two holes, which were collared at the Road Show zone, were subjected to a preliminary analysis of a 500x500 m target. This target contains mineralized copper, gold, lead, silver and zinc as substitute, vein, breccia, and stockwork zones related to ankerite-ferrodolomite and manganese alteration present within rhyolite or limestone dikes.
The holes ESP-12-01 cut ferro-dolomite altered breccia for 54 m in rhyolite dyke. Anomalous lead, silver and zinc were found in the interval, whose length is 41 m, including 1388 ppm lead, 26.2 g/t silver and 2762 ppm zinc. Within this interval, 187 g/t silver and 1.87% lead and zinc over 1.0 m were encountered.
The Molinos zone was examined by three holes. The hole ESP-12-03 was lost before reaching the target depth, as it cut an old mine working. Re-drilling of this hole was carried out and encountered argillically altered argillites that are fractured strongly with limonite stock working. Anomalous values of lead, silver and zinc were intersected over 4 m in the drill hole.
Argillically altered shale was cut over 26 m in the hole ESP-12-04. Anomalous lead, silver and zinc were encountered in the shale interval, while the porphyry contains molybdenum and copper.
Strong potassic and sericite alteration along with quartz vein in feldspar porphyry were intersected in the ESP-12-05 hole, which was lost prior to the target depth. The hole did not return any considerable values, but weakly anomalous values of copper, gold, lead and silver were encountered.
