Soltoro has reported that it has drilled more than 10,000 m of the proposed 20,000 m program at the El Rayo primary silver project located in Mexico.
The company has encountered 706 g/t high-grade silver over 1.2 m at the La Soledad West deposit and 378 g/t silver over 4.5 m in a newly found zone, located towards the eastern part of the Matachines mine. Soltoro is continuing the drill program to extend the current silver resources along the expansions of prominent resource regions and at freshly discovered potential exploration targets.
The company drilled 4 reverse circulation (RC) and 16 diamond holes at the La Soledad West deposit. The west expansion of the deposit has been subjected to drill testing. The company has planned for additional diamond drilling program in order to examine the La Soledad West deposit’s resource potential.
According to Soltoro’s President, Andrew Thomson, the discovery of the La Soledad deposit’s northeastern part and fresh high-grade, shallow silver zone located towards the Las Bolas deposit’s eastern part indicates the potential to extend the present silver resource base located at El Rayo. The property contains two drilling rigs that are operating continuously, Thomson stated.
The company completed drilling of two RC holes and four diamond drill holes at Matachines East and is carrying out drill testing at the Las Bolas structure and a silver soil anomaly located 200 m towards the Matachines mine’s eastern part. A fresh and high-grade silver structure was specifically intersected in the hole RC12-149. The company is carrying out additional drill program in order to find the level of the mineralization. ALS Chemex, a Mexican-based company, has completed the assaying of this drilling program.
