Waseco Resources Conducts Initial Diamond Drilling at Battle Mountain Ridge Gold Project

Waseco Resources has declared that a preliminary diamond drilling campaign will be conducted at the Battle Mountain Ridge gold project, located in Nevada. This project is now under option from Sparton Resources.

A systematic soil sampling program was completed over a section of un-surveyed property during May 2012. The company gathered and sent 259 soil samples to the ALS Chemex Laboratories located in Vancouver and Winnemuca for carrying out multi-element analysis.

The company conducted specific analyses for standard pathfinder elements that were utilized in Nevada-style gold deposit exploration. Antimony, arsenic, bismuth, gold, mercury, silver and thallium are standard pathfinder elements. Previous work was compiled with the results, which clearly show the soil anomalies expansions related with the prominent gold zones located on the claims. These results indicated a fresh unproven region in the claim’s southern part and also the discovery of CSAMT geophysical target and a coincident soil anomaly. This zone has a strike length of around 600 m and is situated near a shallow hole, drilled by Sparton in 2007.

Many popular zones on the claims have been expanded based on the analysis of the compiled geochemical results. The company has planned for a 5,500 ft core drill program, totaling eight drill holes, based on the expansion and by the adding of new geochemical data.

Waseco has conducted a drilling contract and begins work. The preliminary holes are specifically intended to expand the mineralization present in the prominent zones and evaluate the fresh targets. This will be the initial core drill campaign carried out at the property. Therefore, it may result in a better understanding of the lithologic and structural controls on mineralization and act as a guide for future work.
