Fission Energy, a Canada-based resource firm, and the Korea Waterbury Uranium Limited Partnership (the Waterbury Consortium) have announced that they have obtained the final results of the 2012 winter drilling campaign carried out at the J Zone, located in the Waterbury Lake.
The company intersected mineralization containing assays of more than 0.05% U3O8 cut-off from 36 of the 49 infill and step-out holes.
Step-out drill program has broadened the mineralized dimensions laterally towards north-south by up to 55 m. Infill drill program has validated the J Zone continuity by cutting broad down-hole thickness of mineralization in regions, which were examined by previous campaigns.
The company intersected mineralized uranium along the east-west strike of the J-Zone, which currently expands 667 m from the border of the Rio Tinto property. It intercepted discrete mineralization in broader intervals in the J Zone Areas "B" and "C" when compared to former drill program.
In J Zone Area B, Fission encountered 3.72% U3O8 over 1.50 m, 2.64% U3O8 over 1.50 m in hole WAT12-242; 9.61% U3O8 over 1.0 m, 0.28% U3O8 over 4.0 m and 1.97% U3O8 over 5.50 m in hole WAT12-244; 2.22% U3O8 over 3.0 m in hole WAT12-247; and 1.66% U3O8 over 1.0 m, 0.47% U3O8 over 13.5 m and 0.36% U308 over 12.5 m in hole WAT12-229;
In J Zone Area C, Fission intersected 0.27% U3O8 over 3.0 m and 0.64% U3O8 over 3.0 m in hole WAT12-226; 0.66% U3O8 over 1.5 m and 1.22% U3O8 over 1.0 m in hole WAT12-228; 1% U3O8 over 3.0 m in hole WAT12-284C; and 0.44% U3O8 over 5.0 m, 0.24% U3O8 over 4.0 m, 0.06% U3O8 over 1.50 m, 0.20% U3O8 over 1.0 m in hole WAT12-221.
The company is now conducting a 7,350 m summer drilling campaign, totaling 21 holes, at the project.
