Kivalliq Energy Confirms Existence of High-Grade Uranium at Angilak Property

Kivalliq Energy has reported the preliminary assay results of this year from J4 Zone drill program conducted at the Angilak property, and the expansion of this zone to a strike length of 600 m.

The company intends to perform resource delineation drill program at the newly identified high-grade Ray and J4 discoveries, which are situated in the Lac Cinquante deposit. This report summarizes the drilling of 2012, and integrates drilling assay results from the 10 km long Lac Cinquante trend.

Kivalliq has encountered 0.32% molybdenum, 22.5 g/t silver and 3.76% uranium (U3O8) over 0.3 m in hole 12-J4-003; and 0.55% molybdenum, 79.8 g/t silver and 1.91% U3O8 over 1.1 m in hole 12-J4-003.

The Angilak property drilling is part of the 2012 exploration, totaling 27,350 m in 129 diamond holes, and further 4,990 m in 36 exploratory holes with the help of an RC drill rig. The drilling program has targeted to assess linear EM conductors, existing in the Lac Cinquante deposit. Besides resource development and exploration drilling, Kivalliq is conducting ground geophysical surveying, mapping and prospecting and these programs will develop targets located adjacent to the Lac Cinquante.

Kivalliq has intercepted important uranium radioactivity or mineralization in 39 holes out of 46 from 18 locations along a strike length of 600 m at the J4 Zone. An EM conductor defines the J4 Zone situated approximately 2.3 km towards the Lac Cinquante deposit’s east and roughly 300 m towards the Ray Zone’s north.

Mineralized uranium at J4 zone is present in one or two sub-parallel mineralized horizons, named as the J4 lower zone and J4 upper zone. Significant mineralization was not encountered in 10 holes, which include 12-OHM-002, 12-OHM-001, 12-PL-026, 12-PL-025, 12-PL-024, 12-PL-009, 12-LCSW-003, 12-LC-012, 12-LC-009 and 12-J2E-003. Because of poor drilling conditions, Kivalliq did not complete 12-LCM-001, 12-PL-012, and 12-774-005 holes.
