Advanced Explorations (AEI), a resource development firm, has announced that the company has commenced an accelerated exploration campaign at the Tuktu 2 anomaly, as per the new contract signed with XinXing Ductile Iron Pipes Group (XDIP) in order to explore the anomaly.
This exploration was started mainly to outline the level of the high-grade mineralized iron, where up to 69.3% iron values were encountered from the surface sampling program conducted in June, 2012.
The field campaign will consist of a wide surface sampling program along strike, drill testing of the Tuktu 2 anomaly and geophysical surveys specifically designed to outline the level of high-grade mineralization occurring in the enclosed areas.
The program has aimed to better comprehend the geologic target area and assess the prospect to identify adequate high-grade material in order to help a direct-ship ore operation. After this program completion, XDIP and AEI will evaluate the drill results and find out whether further work is necessary.
According to the Chief Executive Officer and President, John Gingerich, the Tuktu 2 target area has shown the capability for identifying high-grade resources that are ideal for direct-shipping. The company considers that there exist potential to identify further mineralized zones of identical grades as the Tuktu 2 prospect, with the company’s holdings in the region surpassing more than 100 sq. km.
Ontario-based AEI targeted to expand its Tuktu and Roche Bay iron ore projects. It has outlined more than 1 billion tons iron under NI 43-101 reports among its Tuktu and Roche Bay deposits and strives to mine other targeted deposit areas towards the western, northern and southern parts of Roche Bay.
