Arrowstar Resources has announced that the ground magnetics survey has been commenced at the company’s Roberts Lake iron ore property located in Ungava, Quebec.
Canada-based Geotronics Consulting has been contracted by the company, under the supervision of David G. Mark, P.Geo. The company is mobilizing the equipment and crews to the property and has planned to start the work in this coming week. This is the subsequent phase in the company’s exploration campaign at the Roberts Lake property.
The survey’s size is calculated at 35 lines at a spacing of 100 m by 4 km that is 140 km with further spacing of 50 m around the high anomalies, which were previously surveyed, for additional 35 km in order to make 175 km. The company has specifically designed the magnetic survey to highlight areas that contain concentrated magnetic iron silicates and magnetite. This will help choose the best drilling locations for a planned diamond drilling campaign. The company is planning to drill the property’s magnetic highs. The campaign is a follow up to the former sampling campaign, reported on July 31, 2012. Up to 63.8% iron was discovered from 24 samples.
Arrowstar’s VP of Exploration and Director, Phillip Thomas stated that excellent magnetite showings have been encountered through the former work carried out at the property.
Additional tests have validated that the magnetite-bearing material can be subjected to a dry beneficiation method in order to obtain a shippable concentrate for users.
