Soltoro has announced that encouraging silver and gold assay results have been obtained from the preliminary sampling and mapping campaign conducted at the 3,052 ha Tecolote project, located in Mexico.
El Tecolate Area Location Map
The project lies less than 10 km towards the northern part of the El Rayo primary silver project and 10 km towards the northeastern part of the El Barqueño property.
The company intersected 40 g/t silver and 5.3 g/t gold over 3.4 m from a channel sample of the Asunción vein system; 62 g/t silver and 13.40 g/t gold over 1.0 m and 87 g/t silver and 8.0 g/t gold from a chip sample. It also encountered 15 g/t silver and 6.3 g/t gold over 1.0 m from a channel sample of the San Eusebio vein system.
According to Soltoro’s Chief Executive Office and President, Andrew Thomson, the company is continuing to improve its knowledge of the mining camps located in the Guachinango districts. The Tecolote mines are situated towards the northeastern part of the El Barqueño mines and northern part of the El Rayo project’s historic mines. It offers a possibility of hosting high-grade veins, containing gold and silver, along with bulk tonnage, low-grade stockwork systems. The company is performing a ground magnetic survey as well as additional sampling and mapping in order to define the precious metal system levels with a view to expand drill target areas.
Tecolote was a portion of the national mineral reserve, including the El Barqueño mines that were acquired by Grupo Mexico. A geological sampling and mapping was completed by Grupo that discovered over 30 vein systems at the Tecolote project. The company completed a limited drilling campaign in select regions located adjacent to historic mines. Recently, Grupo Mexico has optioned the El Barqueño mines to Cayden Resources.
Soltoro commissioned a comprehensive topographic survey over the Tecolote project. The company completed a limited sampling and mapping campaign over 7 vein systems out of 30.
