Fintech, BMT Partner to Provide Enhanced Solution to South American Mining Region

Chile-based Fintech has partnered with BMT Group’s subsidiary, BMT WBM, to deliver an improved solution to the mining area in South America. The move is aimed to increase production levels and operational efficiencies.

BMT’s unique Pulse TerraMetrix RS machine health, production and payload management system

This newly established partnership will offer a complete service to customers through a combination of Fintech’s maintenance and system integration potentials and BMT’s Pulse TerraMetrix RS payload management system.

The systems have been successfully installed at Minera Escondida, since the signing of the partnership contract. At present, Minera Escondida includes two open pit mines containing copper in the Atacama Desert located in North Chile, and Codelco’s Radimiro Tomic (RT) mine situated in Chile. In contrast to other payload monitoring systems that implement electrical parameter calculation methods for payload approximation, BMT’s Pulse TerraMetrix RS system utilizes a device based on load cell, and measures the dynamic and inertial loads applied to the dipper. More precise measurement is therefore maintained, even under strict dynamic loading circumstances.

BMT WBM is a consultancy dealing with hydraulics, maritime, mechanical, environmental engineering and water. The company has roughly 160 employees, including highly skilled engineers, ecologists, biologists, office and field technicians and scientists. Brisbane-based BMT WBM has also offices across North America and Australia.

BMT is a global consultancy that deals with engineering, design and risk management and mainly works in the defence, environment and energy, marine transport and ports, maritime risk and insurance and logistics divisions. The company significantly invests in research. A group of global subsidiary firms of BMT serve customers.
