Buchans Minerals, an Atlantic Canada based resource firm, along with Minco has reported further results from the drill campaign that is currently ongoing at the Lundberg and Engine House base metal deposits located in Canada.
Since July, the company has completed 5,064 m of step-out and infill drill program, totaling 44 holes. It has extended the campaign to carry out drilling of 8,000 m, totaling 58 holes, and the program will be almost completed by late October. The company has obtained and evaluated the results from the initial 21 holes, and will report further drilling results, once they become available.
New drilling assay results received from the Engine House deposit contain a number of intercepts that show the potential outcropping of the zone at surface on the east boundaries. The drill program results from the southern border of the deposit show exceptional potential to extend the high-grade mineralization towards the south, near the holes H-3443 and H-3445.
The company encountered 4.47% copper-lead-zinc over 17.0 m in hole H3445, which includes 9.06% combined base metals over 1.6 m section comprising 0.20 g/t gold, 0.43% copper, 2.08% lead, 12.4 g/t silver and 6.55% zinc between 75.0 and 76.6 m of depth.
The current drill campaign has been specifically designed with many goals such as
- To extend the maximum size of the Lundberg deposits using step-out exploration holes.
- To expand several high-grade regions in the conceptual open pit, including specifically the nearby Engine House deposit and the old Lucky Strike Glory Hole.
- To upgrade a considerable part of the present inferred resources to the indicated category
